16% of CO2 emission is due to vehicles. Imagine if we can reduce this emission. Our solar cells open up new possibilities for vehicles due to a number of reasons.
- Conventional solar cells are opaque, so they are confined to the roof of the car. Our solar cells can be tweaked for different colours and degree of transparency. They can be installed not just on the roofs, but in the windows as well. Good design is important for any vehicle. With our solar cells, car manufacturers can finally combine functionality with aesthetic design.
- Every year, millions of new vehicles enter the motorways. They represent a huge surface area for generating power, all going to waste. Even worse, car manufacturers install solar films in the windows that reduces the amount of sunlight that passes through. Our solar cells can serve the same purpose as solar films and generate power at the same time.
- Our solar cells work under low light and diffused light and are relatively insensitive to the angle of incident light. Whether along a sunny beach or in the city with predominantly diffused light, our solar cells will continue working to generate power for the vehicle.
For many years, car manufacturers have attempted to build solar powered cars. Unfortunately, they have been constrained by existing solar technology. With our solar cells, manufacturers would be able to make more fuel economic and less polluting vehicles.
